Inspired by the teachings of Larry Burkett and Ron Blue, I strive to incorporate Biblical principles into financial decision-making. My journey into financial advising began during my sales career when customers frequently sought my advice on financial matters. With a background that equipped me to assist them, I transitioned from part-time advising to a fulfilling full-time career.
Witnessing a plan come together to meet a client's needs is incredibly rewarding. I prioritize caring for clients as individuals, recognizing the interconnectedness of our lives. Often, we share common connections from school, work, church, or community, which strengthens our relationships.
Growing up on a farm in Northwest Ohio, I was one of ten children. From my father, a state championship basketball player, I learned the value of setting and pursuing goals. This inspired my early career as a teacher and later as a salesman, eventually leading me to become a Financial Advisor. Now residing in Wooster, Ohio, I appreciate its agricultural roots and community spirit, highlighted by the Wayne County Fair—a must-visit event.
My wife, Carol, and I celebrate 45 years of marriage this year. We are blessed with four children, their spouses, and 12 grandchildren. Family gatherings remind me of the importance of financial planning, as decisions affect not just me but my entire family. These experiences inform my approach to advising clients on family expenses, college, and more.
In my free time, I enjoy being with family, whether walking, hiking, or treating the grandkids to ice cream. Occasionally, I indulge in a round of golf or tackle home improvement projects inspired by HGTV. At Church of the Savior in Wooster, I serve as a trustee, worship team singer, and Food Fellowship Ministry treasurer, delivering food to those in need. These ministries allow me to focus on others and share God's love through service.
